So many times, I would want to join a group, and make connection with others, but the moment I joined, my body would be like, no\u2026 this is not for me\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I know that it\u2019s because I had a few thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1 I don\u2019t belong here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The feeling of I have to change myself to fit in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s like one of the recent events I volunteered at. Throughout that time I just felt so uncomfortable, I felt as if I had to act a certain way in order to make a connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2 I\u2019m not good enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And keep comparing myself to others<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s like whenever I get into a group, a part of me would keep comparing myself to them, and my mind would hone in on all the things I haven\u2019t done yet, or how I\u2019m not good enough yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3 Unable to share my struggles<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I share what I\u2019m struggling with, it equated to me feeling incompetent. Or worse, the belief that no one really cares about it, and I have to figure it out on my own anyway, so why bother sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It makes it very hard to share things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yes, all of these stemmed from my experiences while growing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And they don\u2019t help me grow my connections with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Often times, we may really want to have a group of people to support us, but we may stop ourselves short from connecting, because of our tendency to compare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other times, we may crave for that human connection, but we end up holding back because we somehow believe that other people don\u2019t car<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Has there been a point in your life where you are surrounded by a group of people, but you still felt alone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, so many times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yet, I still kept trying, kept healing, kept putting myself out there, because I believe that building a community that I can belong to, will help me walk further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
