{"id":647,"date":"2023-12-27T17:13:02","date_gmt":"2023-12-27T22:13:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/claudiachan.co\/?p=647"},"modified":"2023-12-27T17:13:06","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T22:13:06","slug":"end-of-2023-share","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evercraftleather.com\/claudiachan\/end-of-2023-share\/","title":{"rendered":"End of 2023 Share"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s a little bit of my end of year share\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I sit in my bed I thought, How is it almost 2024? Didn\u2019t we just start 2023?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe for most people, they feel like, rah rah\u2026 let\u2019s look at our accomplishment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And yet my judgemental brain would still come&nbsp; down strong on me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then my heart would start pounding, thinking about all the stuff on my plate, and it feels as if I\u2019m being compressed from all sides.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My husband got my son Minecraft for Christmas, but instead of my son playing, I started playing the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first, I didn\u2019t understand what this game was about, but once I started I got lured into it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s called Minecraft because you mine and craft.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I love the mining.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My brain got super addicted to it, I wanted to see how much of each special material I could obtain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I started searching for answers online. How do I do this? How do I get that? What is this thing for? What can I create from it?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was having fun! All I wanted was to keep playing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then I thought, what is so special about this game that my brain got so excited about?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I mean I\u2019m excited about a game\u2026 yet sometimes doing life is like, pulling teeth.. why is that? and more importantly, how can I apply it to my life?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And my brain presented this idea to me\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you studied with your mom when you were 8-9 yo, she would hit you every time you get an answer wrong\u2026 that is why!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And logically I knew that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this game (or any games) I feel safe. I can\u2019t get it wrong.. and I love success. And games are designed to be easy in the beginning to get you hooked!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In real life, it was ingrained in my brain that it\u2019s not safe to show up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether I was :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presenting an idea.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Networking with other people.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Showing off my wins..&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of these invite \u201cJudgement\u201d, and I could potentially get hurt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s how my brain puts so much pressure on me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be \u201cperfect\u201d or I could get \u201chit\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It took me a long time to get to where I am right now.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I am still working through it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet I am very proud of myself, of how far I\u2019ve come.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To stop my perfectionistic-self from holding me back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because each time I stepped up and showed up, it was another piece of evidence to show my brain that:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2764\ufe0f I don\u2019t have to be perfect.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2764\ufe0f It is okay to step up, even when I\u2019m scared.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2764\ufe0f It\u2019s better to show up and do what I want, even when I am not perfect.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Along the way, I am reprogramming my brain to believe that I am more than what I see.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can go for the impossible, I can do what\u2019s in my heart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life is a challenge. And it\u2019s well worth living.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re been beating yourself up for having not accomplished that you\u2019d wanted in 2023, nothing has gone wrong.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a learning process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But don\u2019t give up.
