Recently, I\u2019d been coaching a handful of people who said that they have no motivation to do anything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While at work, they\u2019re not motivated to work on their projects. At home, they\u2019re not motivated to do more than the bare minimum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They want to do more things, like exercise, or clean the house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But they find themselves scrolling on the phone (while telling themselves they should sleep early), or they\u2019re watching Netflix (while telling themselves they should go on the treadmill while watching).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So they feel bad, they feel lazy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here\u2019s something I always say to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our body knows exactly what to do that is the best for us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Look at all the things you are doing right now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m sure you can rattle off 10 things you need to do right away! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I need to do the laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I need to pick up meds for my mom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I should make something healthy too because we haven\u2019t eaten so well lately, and you know what? Christmas is coming, so I need to list all the gifts to buy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2026. \u2026. \u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Take a deep breath in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Look at all the things you\u2019re doing in your life right now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can you blame your body for not being \u201cmotivated\u201d? It desperately wants to protect you from potentially burning out! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing has gone wrong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
