{"id":330,"date":"2022-11-29T17:05:17","date_gmt":"2022-11-29T22:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/claudiachan.co\/?p=330"},"modified":"2022-11-29T17:10:07","modified_gmt":"2022-11-29T22:10:07","slug":"do-it-because-you-want-to","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evercraftleather.com\/claudiachan\/do-it-because-you-want-to\/","title":{"rendered":"Do it because you WANT to!!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dec is just around the corner, and this year, it seems like the holidays is upon us faster than ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the things that I come across A LOT when chatting with other people is, \u201choliday obligations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Needing to be a certain way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Must do certain things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because \u201cI have to\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what usually happens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is an expectation you need to fulfill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling resentful for \u201cneeding to do it\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling guilty for not \u201cwanting to do it\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And if you\u2019re brave enough to say no: Feeling judged for not doing it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>All these feelings go hand in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We grow up with a lot of expectations placed on us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How we \u201cmust\u201d behave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is considered \u201cappropriate\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be a good mom, good wife, good daughter, good friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a tendency to over do the thing, because we want to take care of others, we don\u2019t want to \u201churt\u201d other people, or we don\u2019t want to \u201cdisappoint\u201d others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the only person who gets the short end of the stick is ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, what about if we only do the things we REALLY WANT?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Give gifts ONLY if we want to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than gifting gifts, what if we are able to set a new rule for this year?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re going to spend some quality time together?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook that dinner ONLY if we want?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than making that dinner, what if we buy take out for some unusual food?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what I\u2019d been telling all my clients recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you stand up for yourself, you\u2019re going to be ruffling A LOT OF feathers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other people are going to push back, make nasty comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BUT, it's do-able!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if you can build up your strength, so that you can stand strong for what you want?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And how you do it, is all about facing all the negative emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be able to face them, and say, you know, this is dang uncomfortable, but I\u2019m still going to stand by my own choices!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because I WANT TO!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If standing up for what you want is what you\u2019re looking for this holiday, AND for this upcoming new year (2023 is coming right up!!), I\u2019m offering a free <a href=\"https:\/\/claudiachan.simplybook.me\/v2\/#book\/service\/2\/count\/1\/provider\/1\/\">\u00a060-min Jump Start session\u00a0<\/a> with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll go through exactly what it is you want to work on, and we\u2019ll make a plan to make this happen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be more \u201cselfish\u201d, be more you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Listen!
